Campus Hotel Venture GP LLC is developing plans for a hotel to be built on the campus of Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas. The Hyatt Place TCU hotel will feature 150 guest rooms, a direct access rooftop bar, swimming pool and multiple-use public spaces. The hotel will have a 3,500 square foot ballroom which can be divided into smaller meeting rooms. The ballroom will provide the school with additional meeting space as well as special events such as weddings, and function space for the university and public.
A restaurant is planned for the site, adjacent to the hotel. A restaurant partner for the site has not been selected. The restaurant will have a full lunch and dinner service and outdoor dining. Catering services to the hotel will be provided by the restaurant.
The site is currently used as a parking lot bordered by McCart, Berry and Sandage Streets. The property is leased from TCU. Construction is expected to begin in June 2019. The anticipated opening of the hotel is fall of 2020. The hotel will provide the only lodging within walking distance of the TCU campus.
The hotel will serve the TCU community; including prospective and enrolled students and their families, visiting professors, visiting athletic teams, alumni as well as neighboring residential areas. The hotel is within walking distance to both the Admissions Building and Amon G. Carter stadium. The new hotel will create a large amount of foot traffic adding to the revitalization efforts on Berry Street.
Campus Hotel Venture is evaluating sites on other college campuses in the US.
